'100 population for all features'
« on: April 27, 2010, 09:15:48 pm »

The init file still claims this to be true - 80 to get king, 100 to get all features.

Yet I can't help but think - is this still true, given the current version?  Admittedly, I'm not sure what the requirements for the king are anymore - I'm not even sure anyone's managed to get most of the nobility to show up (or at least I've not heard of it yet).

Is 50 the necessity at the moment?  Or what?   Anyone know of anything that requires more?

Allow me to Bump this question.

What's the lowest population cap you can have that does not cut out features?

It's still 20 to get artifacts. No idea on the nobility stuff.

I would speculate it has something to do with the offer from Mountain homes, when the liasom comes and asks you if you would like to assign a baron (I do not remember actuall dialog, sorry). So if you do not turn him/her down, I would think that nobility chain slowly builds up from that point on.
I do not know if you recive another offer later in the game if you turn the first one down.
I also think it is not as much population but also created wealth that atracts this offer from your homeland.

I was given the offer for a barony with only 43 dwarves, but I had recently broken 1mil wealth due to a gem mood.

I think it's 80 (or maybe a hundred?) to get a king/queen. In any case if you don't go that high that's probably the only noble you'll lose  - if any. Actually, I wonder what other features you get at the higher number, if it is a king at 80.

I think it's explained in the raws by this little tidbit;

Quote
   For the LAND_HOLDER positions below (baron etc.) this sets up the different levels your fort needs to reach to attain them.  LAND_HOLDER_TRIGGER:<land holder number>:<population>:<wealth exported>:<created wealth>

for example, [LAND_HOLDER_TRIGGER:1:20:10000:100000] is for the Baron and requires at least 20 dwarves, 10000 in exported wealth, and 100000 created. Not sure if that's exactly how it works, but I think so. Also, I don't know how it works for the king.
