Ramps and Pressure in DF2010

I believe ramps cause a total loss of pressure.

Unless Toady completely revamped the pressure model and/or the ramp-tile data, I don't see why they would. Pressure is only lost when passing through diagonal baffles.

True, but at a certain velocity the resulting explosion expels invader-bits at fatal speeds. You don't want to be dropping trogdolyte-shaped shrapnel bombs into your boneworks.
Only in Dwarf Fortress...

If that's so, then waterfalls don't cause it, or I had something really wonky two forts ago.

Pumps change the pressure level but they don't remove it per se (yeah, I did forget to mention them though). And Ralith, waterfalls should cause pressure, but if there's nowhere for the water to build up you'll never notice. Usually it just runs right off the map.
