Taken from the fan art thread.

Vaguely based on a true story:

Slade.

That is all.
I like to add two things,
First, the dwarf in questions needs to be your mayor or baron with 20+ good friends.
Second, my current fortress has no "captain of the guard" despite 23 outstanding warrants.

Interesting to note: if you do assign a captain of the guard and have no cages or chains for justice, the captain will beat the criminals instead.

However unlike 40d he will use his full force to beat them including weapons he's currently wielding.

You can use this to your advantage one of two ways.

First is to equip him with a wooden training weapon. That way any damage will be minor at best.

Or you can do it my way. Steel battle axe.

I had a metalsmith making nickel statues once.

Once eight out of ten were of aphid demons, I reduced him to a hauler.

For the rest of his days.

Yes. Clearly a bug that ought to be fixed in the future, but exploit it in the meantime.

Siliceous ooze...and suns.  Not just one sun, but multiple ones.  At the same time, he's not given to flights of fancy, so perhaps he's one of the great dwarven explorers of the seas and space.  But then again, he is a "herbalist", so maybe he's been spending too much time out in the woods "gathering plants".

There's still something off about a dwarf that likes not just the sun but multiple ones.

Do you always look at it in ASCII?

You get used to it, I don't even see the ASCII.  All I see is blacksmith, miner, goblin.

He likes the pretty carvings other dwarves make of suns, he has never actually seen a sun because of his eyes being coated in vomit.
