A building glitch?

I am trying to build beds for my dwarves but it says "needs bed" i have got a Carpenters workshop,Furniture workshop and Craftmans workshop. [i think thats what it's called]
but it won't let me build anything.[except workshops]And yes i have enough suplies and yes i have dwarves capable of building a bed.

Press the q-key,
move thecursorover your carpenters workshop and order it to build beds ;)
(giving orders to other workshops works likewise)

when you build a bed like that (and most other types of furniture), what you are doing is telling your dwarves 'go get a bed and place it here'. first you need to construct a bed -at- the workshop. press q and hover over your carpenter's shop and set a bed to be built. once it's done then you can place it the way you're trying to now
