Can't train leopard?

HI i'm new to DF and was having trouble figuring out how to train a leopard. It is tame and hangs around my meeting area. I can train war dogs fine but when I "add new task" it has only train war dogs.  Even when i do that it just says no animals are available. thanks

Which version of DF?
If it is 0.28.40d, you can only train wardogs
(and a few other beasts after you have a dungeon master)

Training other animals is only possible with 0.31.x

Even though it says "train war dog," it actually picks a random trainable animal and makes it into a war creature.  So just set train war dog on auto-repeat until you get a war leopard.
