I'd support this in the future when a means of securing your own food comes into being. At present your only means of getting food is to trade your pants for it or go off and risk a megabeast to get his nice loot. Unless you resort to murder and trade someone elses pants (If you're going to be a civs enemy, why not think big?).

But in towns i steal the peoples food barrels and no one refuses to talk to me or attack me so thats a method for early game food.

I've never had that response when stealing from towns. I always either snuck away or had huge brawls, and they wouldn't speak to me after I snuck away and returned (I haven;t stolen food though, so it might behave differently than it does for a really sweet set of pants). Safest bet is to go visit the goblins, recruit a prisoner, fast travel to the wilds, murder him, loot his corpse, and sell it for food.

It should be noted that there is a finite amount of food in the world as well. Once we can butcher our kills and/or eat our murder victims, then something like this should be added. Before then, no thanks.

Edited to remove typo.

Even the food stolen by megabeast rot after you visit their caves for the first time.
