Wiki bug: Map legend uses impossible lowercase gamma
« on: May 02, 2010, 10:29:40 pm »

Normally I'd post this in the Bug subforum, but it's closed to new topics, presumably to force people to use Mantis.  But this bug doesn't belong in Mantis, since it does not relate to the DF2010 executable, but to the 40d Wiki content.

The http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/40d:Map_legend page shows shrubland as represented with a pattern containing character U+03B3, a greek lowercase gamma.  However, that can't be right, because U+03B3 is not present in the Code Page 437 character set DF uses.  In fact, DF uses U+03C4, greek lowercase tau.

Checking the history it seems this bug has been present since the inception of the article.

(I noticed this while investigating the DF2010 bug I reported as #1601.  I needed to look up what tau meant in the legend, and had to drop to the 40d page since the DF2010 one hadn't been written yet. I was confused for a moment before I noticed the impossible symbol and connected the dots.)

...couldn't you have just corrected it yourself?

It is a wiki.

Fixed. It was probably because the tau in the default tileset looks a bit gamma-ish.
