I had my dwarves wearing some wooden training axes.  I am now trying to get them to wear some iron ones (I was attacked by goblins and tried to fight them off with training axes...it didn't turn out well).  I assign them the iron axes and they are wearing them, but they are also still wearing the wooden training ones.  Which one will they use when attacking?  Or is it a dual wield thing and they will attack with both?

They won't dual wield i think, multiple weapons is "just-in-case" their main weapon (right hand i believe) get stuck in a goblin or the likes, then the dwarf will have a spare weapon to fight with.

Strange.  I tried to equip 2 iron axes to get him to drop the training one and now he has the training axe in left hand and BOTH iron axes in his right.  As well as an iron shield in each hand.  Damn these dwarves are talented.
