Yeah, Boatmurdered is what hooked me. The idea of hundreds of dwarves being crushed to death by hordes of elephants is really appealing, for some reason.

You could start a zoo and end up with a natural history museum, I'm sure no one would mind.

The story page on the wiki is what convinced me to read Boatmurdered which then CHANGED MY LIFE so you might want a link to that in there. The stories on the wiki that is.  :P

Also, might want to say that the game's still being worked on, as well as add a section about learning how to play Dwarf Fortress, IE, how awesome the wiki is, and maybe a link to Captain Duck's (Think that was his name) youtube tutorial as well. Those tutorials are great. I wouldn't be here without them.

Oh yes, will have to add something about computers there too and some more community fortress stories. Thou page is becoming a bit more bloated than i would like it to be. But guess short-attention span is last thing i would expect from anyone that can be interested in df.

Anyhow: added short notice about modding, still looking for THE stuff to add from adventurer mode.

I'm pretty sure I found out about DF through tvtropes.org... It's description of the crazy violence that occurs within the game is probably what piqued my interest.

Nenjin has an important point, although it can be expanded upon. The page should perhaps be organized to reflect what different players may love from it, be it the vast Engineering, fierce Combat, incredible Depth, excessive Violence, Sandbox freedom or other elements the game allows.

Second, what's up with the yellow on green style? Ugh, if your going for piss on vomit, well you did it.
Sorry, was harsh on that, but I don't really think those two colours fit so well together..
(I'll try some more constructive criticism with this, working on pic)

EDIT: Okay, I have been thinking about the empty unused space on the sides, perhaps some subtle fanart would be great there. Sublety is the keyword particularly, you don't want to detract attention too much, would have to be sparse, perhaps one image alternating on each side along the distance of one page-scroll.

Oh and was experimenting with colours, could need some more thought.

Showcasing the fanart is great because it shows the energy behind the game that it really inspires people.

Finally, someone got my "piss on vomit" artistic vision! :)

Yeah, putting something on sidelines would definitelly help. (even thou i personally do no like the 3-column web design). I completelly agree on fan-art needing to be showcased as well that it needs to be suble because it needs to be shown, but not necesarily to be main attraction and eye-catcher.

As for colors, it gave you brown background try, it definitelly looks better, thanks!

So I did a bunch of typo editing. Bear in mind that this is plain text, so the formatting is up to you.

I'm a bit anal about grammar, sorry. I can't claim that it's perfect (and it's in Canadian english now, too, sorry), but hopefully it'll help.

Good work Logical2u.

Some extra tidbits though:

from: "Game has two modes. Dwarf Fortess mode, which is basically a city-builder type strategy game."
to: "The game has two modes. First being Dwarf Fortress mode, which is basically a city-builder type strategy game."
from: "...water-powered Babage-like computers..."
fix: Babbage-like
from: "...and a popular pass-time."
fix: past-time
from: "This often has disastrous (fun) results. "
fix: Fun   (little distinction, but important because of how the community sees it, as a primer to the 'Losing is Fun' theme)

Also it is not entirely true you have to play purely via the keyboard, you can use the mouse for designations, and people do in fact, recently some posts here in the forum have admitted to using mouse for creating more organics fort designs. Rather than creating cookie-cutter grids with the keyboard.

Don't be sorry! I am not native english speaker and prone to mistype even in my primary language, so any proofreading is welcome.

(Hey, do not change gender of female protagonists! DF needs one-eyed dwarven lasses!)
