So you've got this little one-character tab in the upper left corner that tells you when there's a combat report to read.

Wouldn't it be nice if it also told you when there was a nasty critter in one of your burrows?

I'm trying to think of ways that I can play in the caverns without having to wall them off completely, and the only way I can come up with is if I have some advance warning of critter attacks.  Some of them are going to get through my traps, surely.  I would LOVE it if the little symbol I chose to represent that burrow popped up in the upper-left corner when something dangerous was in there!  Hey, your soldiers know when something is in the burrow that they need to defend against, so why can't you?

Burrows would have a flag for whether or not you care about getting a warning.

It would also be nice if I got an announcement at the bottom of the screen the first time any dangerous critter enters one of those burrows in a given week.  I'd expect it to be non-pausing, but I guess you could also set it up to be pausing as well if you prefer.

Anyway, this way I would paint some concentric circles around my area so I had some warning.  I always have one big "Hometown" burrow so I can tell my military to defend it in times of crisis; this way I would have a "Hometown Approach" burrow that I would get warnings about, and probably send my squads to defend if I didn't want to risk the baddies getting through my mazes and attacking my mans.
