Does HFS still diffuse upon reclaim?

To clarify, I had a fortress back in 40d that breeched the glowing pit and was immediately holed back up. I later abandoned the fortress only to come back in adventure mode to find that the place had been overrun by the huggy clowns. Does this still happen in 31?

More or less everything on the map that's not nailed down gets scattered around when you abandon, including enemies.
