Any Fire Emblem game. Any Command and conquer. Cortex command. Battleships forever. Sins of a solar empire. Portal. Team fortress 2. Left 4 dead (or l4d2). X-Com. Fallout 3. Starcraft. Diablo.

I wanna be the guy. I agree wholeheartedly to that. More Fun than DF.

You have less of a chance of beating the first level without dying than you do beating a forgotten beast unarmed and untrained.

At least we'll have an interesting review.

Any of the Battlefield Bad Companies. I heard the 2nd one was pretty bad.

And...
The Dune Series.

Metal Gear Solid Series. (+ The ones before the actual MGS.)

Just Cause 1 or 2.

Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow Of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat.

SWAT Series.

And Nethack.

Lots of great suggestions! Let me know what you thought of my Dante's Inferno review as well, though! Please! :) If I lacked something, if I missed something... I'm asking for criticism, here! :D I can modify the format to make it more appealing, obviously. I'll pick about five to seven suggestions from the thread so far and set up a poll when its a less unpleasant hour in the morning. In the interim, when I'm not doing classwork, I'll probably write up some short reviews for a few PSN titles I've been playing.

An unfortunate side note: I won't be doing Nethack, Rogue, or any ASCII based games for a bit. Classwork doesn't afford for the time I would like to devote to these types of games to adequately (in my mind) review them. Maybe over summer I'll do a section of games that require a lot of dying and fiddling around and stabbing the letter g repeatedly whenever I see it.

So far I think I'm leaning toward more recent titles though, but I'll do blasts from the past as well because I'm a fair person and I would be a dirty liar and a very bad girl if I said I didn't want to lose myself to Fallout all over again. Oh power armor, if only you didn't concern me with hygenic logistics...

Speaking of power armor - Metroid Fusion. You can review Prime since you have a DS, but it's a rather different beast.

Deus Ex, the first one. Cheapsies on steam, like $2.

X-Com:  Apocalypse.  Most of what I hear about it seems a little infected by reminiscence of the original X-com (in a negative way).

You can actually get all five of the games on steam for 15$, but they're only 5$ individually, one is essentially a mildly improved clone of the first (with buggier tech tree and more sober music), and two of them are reputed as outright flops.

So, you know.  Do whatever seems cheaper in the long run if you go with XC:A.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember
