3D Graphics Help
« on: April 15, 2010, 12:48:02 am »

My current computer is crap because I can't play most 3D games. (Infini Miner tells me it doesn't have Pixel Shader[forgot which version] and Normal Tanks says it can't detect a 3D Graphics Card.)
Dxdiag says the card is an Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller with 64.0 MB of memory. The driver, it says, is ialmrnt5.dll version 6.14.0010.4342 date 6/21/2005.

So, what should I do?

Um...buy a video card? Although a computer with an 845 chipset is probably old enough that buying a new computer might not be a bad idea.

Depending on when the machine was built, it may not have a PCI Express slot, though, so you may have to buy some pretty old graphics technology.

Figure out how much you want to spend and somebody could link you an appropriate hardware choice.

I have no idea when it was built. :\
I also don't have much money to spend... let's say $100?

Jerk.

You can easily find very good graphics cards for under $100 dollars these days. No you will not be able play play crysis, but you will be able to play most anything else made before crysis.
