I'm not sure if this is the right forum or if this has been posted before, but... Holy crap.

Christ, are you dwarves or are you elves? If you think Hell has too many demons, then you kill them till the population reaches an acceptable number.

Being a computer engineer, I could probably build a much bigger and better version. Sadly, I'm not motivated enough to do so. But still impressive anyways.

Really, there's two hard parts to building a Dwarven Computer.

The first is knowing circuit design well enough to get those logic gates to actually do something.

The second is maintaining your sanity while assigning thousands of gear-linkages.

why is Dwarven science always on fire?
Because normal science is boring

Third, keeping the fortress from going into a tantrum spiral while hooking it all up :P It's easy to forget about the guys who actually have to build the thing.

I suspect any of us here could, with enough internet searching and asking around, build one. People with the sheer insane OCD and free time to build it... not so much.

You'll be revered for the rest of your DF life, of course. Now get cracking, people!  ;)

Without being a computer engineer, I could probably build a much bigger and better version. Sadly, I can't stand assigning tens of thousands of linkages. But still impressive anyways.

Now that dwarves invented computer they can start programming DF for it.

Very nice. That amount of mechanics scares me though!

I could build a better version than either of you, simply because you both pale to insignificance when compared to my glory.
So nyah.  ;)

I think you get to declare that you won the game if you can get your fortress to contain a dwarf-computer that is, itself, running a copy of Dwarf Fortress.
Oh man. The fact that these will probably be possible at some point, one way or another, is truly mind-boggling.
