help, many site problems!

ok, so I've been trying to get online since the 2010 release to try and find some workarounds to some bugs and maybe give back a little(I've been playing and passively watching for about 2 years). To my dismay, as soon as DF 2010 came out and Toady mentioned switching servers or whatever, it seems like his entire network of sites has been on the fritz. The only thing that works reliably is the wiki, but that doesn't have much info on the new release in it yet. So my immediate question would be, why is it so hard to use the forums/why can't I get the bug tracker sign-up page to load? I keep getting "connection reset" errors, pages only half load, etc. The bay12games main page won't load at all(among others), and I only managed to get the forum sign up page to load last night, after which I couldn't get the "post" button to appear on the "post new topic" page. Can someone help me? I love DF, but I've been having some weird problems with it lately that I haven't been able to find answers to, and it's been FOREVER since I've joined in a community of any kind, so I'd really like to get this fixed...

The difficult part is that it appears most of us don't have that problem.
Actually, what could've happen is that your try to access the forum right AFTER Toady One release something.  That generally generates an unholy amount of traffic to the website and slows everything down to a crawl.

I know it happened when DF2010 came out, can't get anywhere.

well, it's been a constant problem since the release of DF 2010. It's a little worse now than it was this morning, but that's not saying much since it was really bad then anyway. (5 refreshes per page as opposed to about 10 now) I don't know if it has anything to do with my network, I'm going through an old linux firewall pc before I get to the internet. The weird part is that I don't have problems with any other site, and nobody else seems to have this problem. I swear, I have the worst luck...

Anywho, the reason I wanted to get online in the first place is to get some help with a crash; after playing DF for an hour or so, my comp freezes and the display gets color-inverted. I can *sometimes* move the mouse, but clicking on things doesn't help. I have to hard reset to fix it. It's getting really annoying, as the last time it happened just before I hit spring of my third year, so I lost an entire season of progress. DF is the only thing that causes this crash. It's completely random, I even left it paused one time for a few minutes and came back to find it all purple/pink/cyan.

I must pipe up here to say that I have been getting many similar if not the same problems with the website recently. The main site and all assosiated sites often refuse to load, while the wiki is fine. I understand that the wiki is hosted on a different server as it is not hosted by Toady, which would lead me to believe that I am having problems communicating to that server that is hosting www.bay12games.com.
