I'll be the one to ask as my getting back into Dwarf Fortress had the fortune of being timed with the new release.  I noticed on the new one the embark search does not have nearly as many parameters.  So if you've got one of those sweet embark sites that is interesting yet survivable, go ahead and post it

just find a spot with rocks you like and perhaps some trees and a river, there are lots of new underground features on all tiles now, you are guaranteed to find something interresting

there is no bitter embark

guaranteed magma, although sometimes very deep

Ah, I was all excited I found an embark with marble and obsidian.  Unfortunately it sucked otherwise.  At least now I know its not that important!
