Where is the reaction for Gold? I went though 'reaction_smelter' but couldnt find it

Simple, there is none.

Only alloys, and thread based smelting reactions go in that file.

The 'reaction' for gold, is actually a reaction based off its METAL_ORE tag in inorganic_minerals, or one of the others.

You could, conceivably, rewrite all of the standard METAL_ORE smelting as reactions, and remove the METAL_ORE tags from the minerals-- Which isn't smart actually, since one of the Stockpile options is to only store Metal Ores, which is useful--, but you could.

A couple of mods for the last incarnation of the game did it.
