My migrants have skills...
« on: April 09, 2010, 02:10:13 pm »

Just look at that screen shot. Two skills for weapons that dwarves can't make, and biting. No punching, wrestling, or kicking, just biting.

To top it all off, she's a high master miller. So that means she can turn wheat into flour at lightning speed, I guess.

So what weird skills do your migrants have?

I had an expert blowgunner. It made me pray for a kobold siege so I could try to have her use it, but I have since moved on to a new fort.

I had a high master lasher show up in one of my failed forts, but the traders NEVER brought me a whip.

Bastards.

This is an Alder Omelette. All craftsdwarfship is of highest quality. It is encircled with bands of cheese. It menaces with spikes of bacon, ham, and peppers. On the object is an image of dwarves in egg white. The dwarves are eating.

I actually had a really useful one immigrate.
She had High master diagnosing, wound dressing, and was an expert swords dwarf in addition to all the useful combat goodies.

Doctor: Looks like we're going to have to amputate!
Miner: But I just have a cut on my hand.
Doctor: Listen, I'm the doctor here, and I say we're going to have to amputate!
Miner: Can I get a second opinion?
Doctor: Sure! -Iron Short Sword- what do you think? Amputate? Ok!

Anyways, I have an dwarf who is both an Expert Thresher and a High Master Metal Crafter, along with metalworking, bone carving, and surgery.

As well, a bow dwarf with surgery skills and is an accomplished soaper.

My first migrant in this version was a high master bowyer.

Needless to say, I'm keeping the save with me at all times until the military stuff is fixed.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

I had a weaponsmith show up one time.  He had 3 skills.

Adequate weaponsmithing, master gem cutting, and master gem setting.  Weaponsmithing wasn't even one of his activated labors.  I was confused.
