Adamantine naturally occurs in the form of small crystals. The dwarf brings these crystals back to the workshop to "extract strands" by spinning the crystals in a centrifuge while heating them, resulting in a fluffy mass of strands. These strands are then pressed into wafers.

I feel like the physical resistance of the substance at any stage in this process is inconsistent with your conclusions.

I'd hate for my equipment to fall apart in the rain. Although it might solve a lot of soldier morale problems.

Meh, I stopped liking the "clown" thing the first time I understood it. It's hardly a disguise, anyway.

"I just breached the cotton candy and my fort was overrun by giant flaming clowns" is a pretty big spoiler.

The very fact that there is anything wrong with the adamantine, and that there may be something else inside it.

If dwarf sugar is anything like dwarf bread, it probably IS adamantine in granular form!
