Dump item from inventory and/or replace worn item.

This pretty simple suggestion is to be able to flag an item for "dumping" from the inventory of a dwarf. Doing this would wait until the dwarf wearing the item had no job, and would then drop the item into his carried slot and generate a dump job for him to dispose of it. As he lacks an item in that slot, he is now free to go and obtain some new clothes (the old ones being forbidden due to being dumped)

An variation on this would be the ability to select individial items worn by a dwarf for exchange. This would cause the dwarf to FIRST go to the nearest replacement item, then unwear and drop the item to be swapped, then pick up the replacement. If you wanted the dwarves to be tidy, you could immediately give the same dwarf the chance to store the replaced item in a relavant stockpile, or you could leave it where it was dropped for the next hauler to handle.
This replace item action would replace having to order a dwarf to become unarmored and re-armored just to swap out an errant gauntlet of the wrong quality/material.
