'No Trade' on embarking screen
« on: April 07, 2010, 05:39:22 pm »

Under the Neighbours tab when selecting a location to embark, I'm seeing yellow 'No Trade' tags under several of the races, including my own. What's up with that? Is there a reason I can't trade, even though there are several human settlements nearby?

I tried taking a screenshot, but I'm getting odd 'Can't read from clipboard' errors.

I think that things like traders actually come from specific settlements and path to destinations from there. So places with "no trade" marked against them are places they can't actually reach - there is an impassable cliff/etc blocking the way. Your seven dwarves are effectively just created on embarking so can appear anywhere that isn't entirely mountains or water.

I can remember reading something along those lines but I can't find the source now.  :)

That's pretty strange, because there's so many settlements really close by! Oh well. If they don't want my stuff then screw'em.

It doesnīt have anything to say at the moment.

Even though you have "No Trade" caravans will come normally to your fortress
(all of my first 4 fortresses where within "no trade" regions,
didnīt keep the traders from appearing ;) )
