Worldgen cave options
« on: April 08, 2010, 04:34:25 pm »

So I'm sitting at worldgen in the new bugfix version and wondering if anyone has fiddled with the parameters controlling number of layers, cave openness, or passage density. Wondering what they do, and what settings are optimal for adventuring to see all the new underground features.

I've fiddled with them a bit. I didn't like how half the underground was weird little mazelike things, so I set minimum openness at 30 and maximum passage density at 70.  That made nice big caverns with occasional corridors, but it was hard to find any water, so I upped the minimum water to 30 and that seems pretty good now.

So far I had only tried cave openness at min/max 100 to see the effect it would had.

One cave I found in this world, when you get off the last ramp from the cave interest there is nothing but water. :)

I'll try your settings next.
