My human after raiding a town has gotten an infection from a cut on the cheek and eyelid. Is there a way to cure it or keep it under control?
 More importantly will my human die? (infection is only on the skin currently)

Edit: Does swimming "clean" the wound? I see the pus wash off that way.

edit: my guy died from battle and i made a new one and im in a carvern and I broke some bones and now they are infected

I'm not sure of swimming cleaning the wound, but you could always try to wash it off with magma.

If it's absolutely necessary, you could retire in a town and make a lot of soap in a fort, then travel to that fort in adventurer mode and use that soap. This is assuming that retiring doesn't cure the wound.

Has anyone had an infection in adventurer mode cure itself? More imortantly what happens if you just leave it?

I left my cheek infected for several hours of play, and it never grew worse.  I think it really matters how deep the wound is for the infection.  But so far I have yet to see any infections going away or killing my adventurer.

When I didn't treat my broken ankle, my entire body rotted away, and I eventually "succumbed to infection."
However, I'm not 100% sure I didn't get some kind of poison.
