Grendel's Hot Mom Arc
« on: April 05, 2010, 07:38:08 pm »

Give deities and demons the ability to create their own races, rather than the race coming first and then picking a divinity.

Deities and demons interbreed with mortals, giving birth to great heroes and horrible monsters.

Rulers claim their descendence from divinities of old.

I am really glad I was not drinking milk when I read the topic of your post.

That said, demonspawn would be interesting.

This is actually an awesome idea.  What would be even crazier is if the races were random.  I know it wouldn't be Dorf Fortress anymore, but randomly generated races would be something.

Actually, Toady has mentioned the possibility of randomized races coming eventually, alongside the typical races. There are already randomized underworld demons in the new version, some of which reach the surface and will claim leadership of civs. In my current world, there is a three-eyed Wombat Demon named "Mamgoz". There was also a noseless Llama Demon, "Okag" who did the same elsewhere, but it was fried by a dragon in year 7, and a human took over as ruler.
