Dwarves refuse to pick up axe for woodcutting.

Topic says it all, got a bronze axe lying around, but nobody wants to pick it up for chopping purposes...

Stupid question, but is the woodcutting labour activated?

Because I had a problem with my Carpenter/Woodcutter not cutting wood, and it appeared that the wood-cutting labour wasn't activated(only carpenting was) even though he was an accomplished woodcutter...

Is it forbidden? Is it accesible? Are your dwarves busy doing something like eating, drinking, sleeping? Does this belong in the gameplay questions forum? ::)

Yo, I had the same problem. I couldn't figure out a solution, but I think it was because I used the new Dwarf Therapist to change my Dwarfs profesions right at the start of the game. I had to start over unfortanely...

Worked itself out as I started producing more axes. Had included an Axe in my militia commanders uniform, so it appears it was set aside for him.
