[0.31.01] Another kind of Worldgen crash.
« on: April 05, 2010, 12:22:54 am »

As stated, another species of Worldgen crash.  I don't hink I've seen this particular one posted  (since once it starts generating, it has no issues)...and at least, not with these details.

Anyways, have done some testing here.  With graphics turned off, worldgen works fine as far as I can tell.

With them on, the moment I select to generate a new world (either random, or with parameters) it throws a runtime error.

However, if I load a fortress already in progress, then save so it returns me back to the menu, it will allow me to generate a world with no further problems.  (And only one world, if I try for a second, it crashes unless I load/save a fortress again)

This also works if I load a fortress already in progress and abandon it.

It does not, however, work if I create a new fortress and abandon it in the same gaming session.

Not sure if said tested information is particularly useful, but figured I'd throw it out there just incase.

[edit]  Oh yes, this is with Windows XP, SP 2
