Tile with DF31
« on: April 02, 2010, 08:32:54 pm »

Hello, technically I am very noob and I dont really know how it works. All I can say is that before the new release I was playing with the Mike Mayday ( http://mayday.w.staszic.waw.pl/df.php ) tileset. And I would like to play with same or similar graphics with the new version because.

Thank you for helping me. I tried to find a similar post but i didnt find one.

P.S sorry for my bad english.

Just go to http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Tileset

There's a download link there, it's Dwarf Fortress bundled with Mayday's tileset.

Yes, some people called the new version that before release because we didn't know what the version number would be.

Use the second download link, not the first.

Does anyone know how to get this version to look like this:

I think it used to be the option in the init file that had to do with making black transparent, but I could be wrong. Also, I don't know if it has to do with the fact that the images used in this release are GIFs as opposed to being PNGs.

That's a specific tileset- specifically, Mayday's creature tiles with another tileset I forgot the name of (I know it's on the wiki tileset page though).

Since the current version hasn't been merged with the D# versions it doesn't support PNGs or transparency.  The tileset in that pic is from one of Mike Mayday's releases where every tile had a transparent background.  In short, there isn't any way to get it looking like that right now.  I expect the merged version won't take very long though.
