Oh, as far as opinions go on the movie, it was eh. Good special effects and all, plot rather chiche, some minor plot holes (as I, who normally make a big deal of plot holes, mostly just accepted them).

...as for the book, it's perfectly good for five year olds. But the only thing in common with the movie is the character names- so, don't get it just because your kid is excited about the movie.
Did you see it in 3D? The flight scenes in 3D have been getting some pretty amazing praise from most critics. Personally though, I loved the movie because of the main dragon. They put an incredible amount of work into giving him a fun personality and I loved the end result. He's like this awesome mixture of Dragon/Cat/Dog and the end result is hilarious and great.

I'm going to see it again this weekend, I personally thought it was pretty fantastic.

Seriously, New VN is like Herpes 2.0. It is newer and shinier, but for some odd reason no one wants or likes it. I wonder what that reason is...
