Arena Layout Thread
« on: April 02, 2010, 07:12:28 am »

In the init folder is the arena layout .txt, which can be changed. The letters seem to be as follows:

# - Empty
P - Solid Rock
F - Fortification
. - Rock Floor
L - Lava
W - Water
R - Up Ramp

So, post your edited arena layouts here in code tags.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I call it easy on frame rate.

Fair enough :P
Does it glitch if you remove levels?

I will probably make a set of dozens of 5x5ish and a few 10x10 sections so that I can test stuff with mini-battles...

ARRRR!!!! We need boats that are docking each other and/or individual galleons and such for different kinds of boat battles.

I need to take some time in crafting something that would be interesting. Plus, we need some arena ideas like my boat one.

Variations within arena:
Individual galleon (mutiny battles)
Parallel docked boats (capture battles)
Perpendicular docked boats/collision (capture battles type 2)
Boat docked on land (siege)

For added challenge for the battles, change water into magma. Burn the swimmers.

Bonus: Have a mini island isolated from all the arenas in the center to serve as purely for landlubbers. Maybe have a giant palm tree/crow's nest/outpost setup to serve as a spot for a "ref".

Oh, and is there any kind of text viewer or something that would allow you to layer each Z-level on top of each other? The only other alternative I can think of is using Notepad++ and Adobe Illustrator in tandem with each other to get things to look right. Provided I use a monotype font to keep everything consistent.
