Siege behavior.
« on: September 06, 2006, 01:35:00 am »

I know I just posted a thread but I this just came to me and I feel it deserves a thread.

Anyway. Right now I notice that there's no special behavior for sieges. By that I mean the moron dwarves will continue doing their jobs without any care of the siege going on outside. This obviously leads to problems when they attempt to chop down wood or otherwise go outside. Then if you do not allow them to go outside, they will spam their job cancellation and slow down the whole game. Basically, an option to set your dwarves to various behaviors would be nice. There could be "War time" that only allows jobs like siege engineer, siege operator, metalsmith, farming, etc to be done or at the very least given a high priority. Then there could be "Normal" or "Peacetime" which would be the normal jobs. Then "Panic". This would give dwarves an unhappy thought but tell them to arm themselves or otherwise get a weapon. This would only be used if your hall was actually breached by demons or other forces.

Evil Genius had a similar yellow and red alert system that worked pretty well.
