Imagine you're battling a goblin and you're wielding a warhammer. You hit the goblin square in the face with it and it kills him. Not by smashing it into the body, oh no. You break the goblins nose. Then the little pieces that remain of the bone in the nose are forced to migrate... To the brain. It can happen in reality, I believe.

If you hit the goblin in head with the WARHAMMER it's much more often that he'll die because his head cracjs open than because his "nose parts migrate to brain". Also nose a nose generally consists of gristle not bone.

Though it gives me a nice idea: why not to stick the finger in the nose thus damaging the brain? =) Nice wrestling idea.

Um...let me check...how many bones are in a nose?
Last I checked it was made of cartilidge.

I've heard of this happening, actually.  But yeah, if you just took a 50-or-so pound warhammer to the face, you've got more to worry about than a broken nose.

Actually as a wrestling idea this works, the nose is mainly cartilage but there is a small protrusion of bone at the top and under impact this can indeed break off and enter the brain, causing death. The trick is to use the heel of your hand at a slight upward angle. Please don't try this unless its in self defence. I think as far as a large hammer is concerned it's likely the hammer would enter your brain and the various shards of bone that went with it wouldn't make you any more dead than their absence would.
