I believe someone did something like this. They set a stones boiling point to below normal temp and made them appear in clusters and look exactly the same as the stone their in. Results in stone vapor. And fun.

That would be me. And it is fun. Since it doesn't block the message you will be digging along in say marble and then suddenly you get the message "You have discovered marble". And it is at that very moment when your brain just creates a sort of "Oh Crap" message.

Totally badass.  What happened to the dwarfs when they encountered the stone vapor?

Bubububububut... what happens?  ._.?

depends on the boiling point you set, i did something like that once to get rid of excess stone, and made the stones boil at air temperature, so the stone vapors were inoffensive, but if you made the stones boil at a really low temperature, then they'd boil at air temperature but the stone vapor would be at the boiling point temperature, cuz that's the way the game handles these things...and that is very much lethal cuz it'd freeze your dwarves to death

Next time 'round you ought to be able to just set it to ignite at room temperature if you're rather burn them the conventional way. The problem is (and this is why I've never done it) is that as soon as you reveal the gas pocket in limestone (say), you'll get a message saying that you have struck limestone (the "dangerous" limestone). Then, you just...stop digging. It's not like you're digging along, and it suddenly explodes.

also, only objects will boil\ignite, natural or constructed walls wont be any more dangerous than any other(that is, harmless till you get propeled against it) unless you mine them and get a stone

Hmm, I can see the inevitable result of gas pockets already...

You have located a magma pipe.
You have struck brimstone!
Catten Burialpaints, Canary, has suffocated.
Reg Tombdagger, Miner, has suffocated.
Animal burned to death. x250
Dwarf died in the heat. x199
Your settlement has crumbled to its end...

...So when were we going to see this Fun generator implemented, again?

Oh man!  Someone needs to add that!  That's two ideas in as many days that I personally think need to be modded in...
