Got a strange mood dwarf who keeps screaming for "body parts". I butchered several animals, he never went for any of the remains. Nor did he go for raw hides.

Is this a bug, or has someone actually gotten someone who wanted body parts what they wanted?

No idea, I had to mod my cougars to have shells to save one of my mooders (just now actually). He might be wanting a dwarfs parts or something...

I think body parts means bones.  I'm pretty sure I've gotten that a few times and bones satisfied it.

I've had my diagnoser ask for body parts and rough gem in the jewelry workshop.

He ended up using gems and elk bones to make a tanzinite bed.

You definately need bones. They are harder to come by now since things rarely rot. Make sure the guy can reach the stuff(he has to be able to access the burrow).

I had piles of bones available to him (he wasn't assigned to a burrow, and it was RIGHT THERE).

I had this earlier as well, slaughtered some kittens to give him bones and he grabbed them but still wanted more body parts.  Can only think that's shells, but I couldn't fish up any in time - there were just remains of lungfish and turtles scattered around my brook so not sure if that's boiling water cooking them or my cats are killing them.

Is it possible to get shells anymore if you can't fish them up or is it possible to buy raw turtles/lobsters?  Don't think I could see it in on the traders.

I think your best bet of getting bones is to butcher any and all corpses you have, that leaves meat and bone.

Managed to get this to work for a second dwarf - when I butcher a cat you get a stack of x bones, I think the dwarf is seeing the stack as 1 bone, rather than before where he would go and grab 1 out of the 9.  My mistake before was to stop butchering kittens, beardling error.

And now even though he wanted logs and body parts he's made an iron figurine of humans taming jaguars and is a legendary bonecarver.  Confused.
