You know, I heard a rumor there are no Dwarven women, and that Dwarves just sort of spring out of the ground.

I don't know about anyone else, but I always thought "just sort of spring out of holes in the ground" was the best euphemism for childbirth ever .

You best watch your metaphors, boy, or you might end up making a comparison in the company of a gender that doesn't take to a similar liking to them xD

Why, as I see it, Dwarven Economy is an almost perfect simulation of free-market capitalism - it's just that no-one has invented wallets and 'SALE' stickers yet!

My queen's room will be to the side of this, with clear glass windows so she can view the great hall from her throne room.

And so the entire fortress can see her getting it on with her consort.

For me, the Hoardemaster owned them all initially. 

She then started stocking them with all the things lying around in my stockpiles, which means they were unowned, but they became the property of the store's owner when they are picked up.

This may be thanks to my hoardemaster being a legendary Clerk, Cook, Appraiser, Judge of Intent, and some other social thingies, though, as she is exempt from the economy.

The people who see a used, too-small-for-dwarves giant cave spider silk loincloth shop and say "*I* want to be the only overpriced dirty, ill-fitting underwear shop in town!" are not necessarily all legendaries, but they're pretty much the only ones who can routinely afford that kind of stupidity.

I feel as stupid as the economy now, I just realized that my Mayor/Hoardmaster didn't have an Account of 16 db, he had 16 Owned Objects.

So he's doing just fine :p.  Back up go the shops!
