I just genned a new world in dig deeper and came up with a good site in my opinion.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

this here is a picture close to the embark site, at the top of the picture is a magma pipe, at the bottom is a magma pool covered by a natrual overhang and open on the side.

and here is an aerial view in VF.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

there are a few natural plants and soil does exist, the lack of trees can be fixed with the underground river and imports.

Meh, pretty good, but not the best. I have a magical seed which makes very very good worlds 3 out of 5 times. I am currently playing on a map with a bottomless pit, magma pipe, chasm, underground river, brook, visible underground pool, white sand and lots of metals such as gold, Blackmetal, and Mithril. Two parts of the map are filled with trees, and it is untamed wilds so there is a Giant Eagle sometimes. I use Dig Dwarfier, which is like DDeeper, but a bit modified.

Nice. I'd dig in just SW of that caldera, but that's me.

and location
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I haven't seen any flux yet so it may not be here, but I'm quite sure I can order it.
It does however have several neon stones exposed (orthoclase, microcline, etc...)
Hematite, Copper, Aluminum and chromite are also exposed to the world.
The mountain is mainly felsite

The only things it is missing are an underground pool (really nice formation once you drain it) and a bottomless pit (generally useful for many reasons), oh, and HFS. :)

If there really is no flux then that might be a problem.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Well just for laughs I expanded it to a 16x16 instead of a 6x6 and that added a bottomless put, HFS, a chasm that starts and ends on the map while cutting a nice cleft into the mountain, and a valley for the river to the north.

also the dwarves start in the dead center on the map on top of a spire +52 z levels up from the valley floor.

so a grand total of +69z levels and -15 from the center of the valley floor.

Drain the underground pool into HFS, drain the magma pool into the underground pool, redirect the underground river to the bottomless pit, and redirect the magma pipe into the chasm.

just a thought. ;)
