Dwarves ignoring items
« on: March 26, 2010, 05:23:19 pm »

I'm having a problem with various items around my fortress being entirely ignored by my dwarves (and on some levels, by the game). They show up on-screen and in the 'Look Around' sidebar when I move the cursor onto their square, and I can interact with them - viewing descriptions, marking them for dumping, etc. However, that's about the limit of the evidence that they exist; dwarves will not move these items if they are marked for dumping, and I can't even designate stone for use in constructing a part of the fortress (even if I forbid and unforbid the stone to clear out any jobs trying to use it).

These are all sorts of objects, from stone to furniture, and others of the same type are being moved normally, but allowing other jobs to complete results in a stack of idlers rather than attention being payed to these things. I have confirmed that they're not forbidden, no orders are interfering with them, and I definitely have dwarves with the labors for moving these items.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Did you reclaim?  There is a known bug where when you reclaim any objects which had been tasked for a job when the fortress was lost can't be used or moved by your dwarves when you reclaim.

Thanks. (:
