Trying to add a megabeast
« on: March 21, 2010, 07:02:15 pm »

So anyways, I'm trying to add a ridiculously powerful megabeast, just to see what it would do. The problem is, it's not being genned into to the world.

For the most part, I've merely copied the bronze collossus(it's an inorganic being as well) and changed a few tags, but also copied the body to add a few... appendages, namely to the effect that it has built-in weapons(Warmechs, anyone?). Even if I royally screwed up there, it should still at least appear in a world's legends, right? Or is there something I forgot to do? Already cleared out /data/objects.

What do the raws for this thing look like?  Are you getting any errors in the error log?

No error messages. It's just not showing up(at least in Legends).

I suspect your creature is not being compiled, which probably means a mistake in the file headers.

Is it in a separate file?  Are you sure you did the headers right, complete with the file names as plain text at the top?

Set one of the civs to use MECH_WAR as the creature.  If it's not compiling your creature, you should now get an error message.  Make sure it's one that you can create a single creature for in adventure mode (ie, humans).  That way, if they still don't show up and you get no error message you can start one and make sure they're not instantly dieing or something.

Whoops, forgot to add [OBJECT:etc.] to the headers. It works now. Thanks.
