Well, as I mentioned I have scanned with various softwares suspecting a virus or malware at first.
Here is a list of programs (recent defs) that found nothing:
AVG9Free (uninstalled)
AdAware /shield (uninstalled)
hitmanpro3 (cloud)
TrendMicro housecall (online)
Avast!
RUbotted
Spybot S&D

I installed the most recent Realtek and Atheros drivers, but after rebooting sound is still choppy. :(
Have to wait 2 days before allowed to DL 2 more.

Is it just sound? or is it performance as well? Mine slowed down in general, not just sound and videos.

general performance. Its just that those processes eat the most resources.

having several word documents, browser pages and virusscanner on for example also causes trouble, like words appearing after several seconds after being typed and such.
