Even if you managed to weld the blade back together, I somehow don't think a welding joint would be a very good thing to have in a sword. Seems to me like it would create an extremely brittle weak point.

In reply to the OP:
1. Go to the Civilizations screen (press [c])
2. Select the civilization, press [enter]
3. Press [tab] [tab] [enter]

There you go.

You don't carry a forge in your pocket. End of discussion.
That's why the army requested miniforges.

It has five mouths full of treacherous teeth, enormous clear wings, and ferocious blue eyes. Beware its icy breath! Ustxu was associated with oceans, glaciers, boats, and murder.

Well it would be nice if the traders hints you to stuff that isnt in the trade agreement. Maybe even something that interests only the trader - like trading a silver-necklace for his wife etc. That could generate good PR for your fort among the mother-civ of the trader or the trader might give you lower prices. Maybe a bit of adv. conversation could work for this where you could talk to the trader.

edit: That would be for me a mini-forge. While a real forge is a entire building with much more stuff then a fire and a small anvil.

The mini-forges in DF are toys; I've always thought of them as resembling something between dollhouse furniture and those model steam engines you can find in hobby stores.  You might perhaps be able to fire up the hearth (they're made of stone, after all, so they should be fireproof), but you certainly wouldn't be able to forge anything bigger than a toothpick in one.

Which presumably was your point.

Where would that information be placed on the depot/trade screen? Seems like it would crowd the present data a bit? Or would you just want (essentially) a hotkey to the agreements page for the relevant civilization?
I would fix this problem by while the items are in the depot they will been color coded for importance.
You are welcome for re-railing the tread.

Color-coding sounds like a good idea, but I was thinking along the lines of dialog from the traders.
