I couldn't think of anyplace else to put this so:

I set the time I was logged in to "Forever."

Problem: I then forgot my password.
Other problem: My laptop (which I'm logged in on) is starting to die.
Solution: "Forgot your password?" *click*
Problem: I input my email address, get an email, and the link it gives me directs me to the page in which I input my email address. An endless cycle.

How do I get my password back?

If you're still on the computer with which you usually log in, maybe you can get the "saved" password back (in firefox 2.0 ( ) it's under preferences/security/show passwords).
I usually can get all the passwords i told my browser to remember in here.
It might be different with other browsers or OS obviously.

PS: maybe file a bug report in the bug forum for the "forgot your password" problem, otherwise Toady isn't going to notice it.

In chrome its under the wrench icon -> options -> personal stuff tab -> show saved passwords.

Don't those both assume that he chose to have passwords saved to begin with, which is not necessarily a very smart idea at all?

In firefox you can have a password set up that is required to access any of the saved passwords, so it's not that bad.  Then you just need to remember one password for every site you visit.

And if he has saved passwords, he probably wouldn't have this problem to begin with.
