go find some Bagpuss, The Flumps, The Wombles, Camberwick Green or other things of that era... other than that we had the early Looney Tunes / Hanna Barbera stuff.

I do like some modern cartoons, Spongebob is hilarious (son agrees), but most of it these days is reconstructed, regurgitated gunk.

Yea right now, western animation is a lull. With Avatar: The Last Airbender concluded, there currently no real decent cartoons on.

Though Teen Age Drama Island (and its squeal), are very good paradies of the reality tv.

Lol, most of the childhood cartoons were boring. I never liked Tom and Jerry.. they're like... just fighting. A lot of the Nickelodeon cartoons were boring too.. Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Daria, were like too mature. I think my favorites were Animaniacs, Pink Panther, Garfield, definitely Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

 Flapjack is an odd cartoon. Half the people who know it hate it and the other half find it brilliant.  I'm not sure where I stand on this one as I have never watched it.

 Also, Fosters looks like a good modern cartoon.

Also, I'm just going to say this, and I'm sure I'll get an argument, but I think Clone Wars is a good show.  If for no other reason, it's the first show I've ever seen air on Saturday Mornings that actually has the balls to kill named characters.  Maybe Gargoyles did, I don't remember, but that would put it in good company.  Also, fairly good acting (for the most part), ongoing plots, and reasonably complex themes and constructions.  Compared to what cartoons are supposed to be anyway.

Foster had like 5 seasons. It had a good run. Excellent show.

I didn't watch Clone Wars as the events can't happen in Starwars. There no time for it! ;.;

However, its on my to watch list since I discover that the director is creator of Samurai Jack.

Er... No.  Not exactly.  The Clone Wars shorts were made by Tartakovsky, but that ended with the short-run.  The new CGI one was certainly "inspired" by his work yes, but has nothing to do with him.  That's why most people assume it sucks, and why I'm genuinely surprised that I like it.

I love the mini series. I actually own them and watched during the first run on CN. If he not actually working on then I lost interest in watching it.

See, that's exactly what I'm talking about.  Ya gotta give it a chance, man.  It's good, I'm telling you.  Well, most of the episodes are anyway.  A lot of the episodes with chick-insertion-character are annoying, but the clones are famous now for a reason.
