Haul jobs and containers
« on: November 25, 2007, 01:00:00 am »

Dwarves who are on a haul job ought to use various containers when moving objects. Bins, bags, buckets, barrels even, could be used so a dwarf can move multiple rocks, seeds, body parts, etc at a time. Mixing should of course be avoided. Perhaps a haul order could have the dwarf take an empty container and grab any like object within 1 square (and on the same Z-level) as well as the normal haul object.

Similarly perhaps blood/mud/etc cleaning dwarves could use a bucket and water to speed the process. Of course if no bucket/water is available they could just do it with... whatever it is they clean with. What do they clean with anyways? Their tongues?

Theres some serious code issues that need to be dealt with before hauling can be revamped.  I think this all in the dev notes somewhere.
