Large Rivers

When very large rivers hit bodies of water, they tend to meet up kinda awkwardly.  (Note, erosion was set to 0 for this worldgen.

What you're seeing is more of an oddity related to how river sources connect to major rivers, but yes, it does look rather peculiar.

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

I am confused by what you mean to a river source?  Aren't those usually connected to a brook w/ 5 or 6 lines sticking out?  I am under the impression that in DF, rivers get bigger until they reach a body of water like this.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about, and they connect to both brooks and rivers - if you look at your screenshot, you can see it fairly clearly.

Those things actually always show up when you have a river coming out from a lake, but usually they're only small rivers so they don't look quite that strange.

I guess it was your nomenclature I was confused about.  I was under the assumption that rivers always flowed into lakes, never otherwise.
