Game started. World generating as I type. Screenshots will be edited in soon.

All hail Falamar, the pirate captain!

Our starting spot, after our first move. Lotta jungles...

Chose the spot two south of the northernmost pearls. Surrounded by jungles but we're the lanun, what do we care what the land's like?

Turtles! Delicious turtles...

Mmmm... truffles.

ALL HAIL CTHULU OUR OCTOPUS OVERLORDS

Our second city has been founded...

And with it, we meet our first neighbor:

Howdy, neighbor! Just stay out of the sea and we'll have no problem. Unless the octopus overlords don't like you.

Oh, okay. well that's cool.

HOLY SHIT BEARS. In the jungles to the south west. I WAS planning on settling there, but I guess I'll just have to find somewhere else.

MOTHER FUCKING BEARS. #1 threat to America, and the Lanun, apparently.

Another civilization, to the west. Also, goblin archers have begun taking pot shots at our garrisons in Dunwich, and found a nice little easily defendable shot from which to do it. When I can finally do something about the bastards I'll need to make sure I tell my warriors to give them a long, painful death.

ARG FUCKING ARCHERS

It seems the dwarves prepare for war... Then we shall show them the FURY OF THE SEA!

Or whimper and cry in our little hovels.

Forgot to mention, third city founded. Would've been founded sooner if it weren't for those FUCKING BEARS

Made a trade with the Luchriup, their world map for Knowledge of the Ether (I know it wasn't the best trade, but they like me and I'm more focused on getting myself out of this hole I'm in then scouting). Turns out it wasn't too bad a deal after all...

That's all the land directly to the west, with all the civs. You can see the minimap for all the rest which was revealed. I've also realized that I need to get to sailing around the world soon...

I also noticed that there's only one source of copper in the entire world, which is currently unowned and is in the desert directly north of the... Khazad... My enemies...

...

Better get to killing them, then.

RAATRFSGJWVJGWHDELJD:BJJSDJLJSSJJSJSJSSJ BEARS

This may be a problem, depending on where he spawns...

Fourth city's finally founded. Been a slow game so far, partially from those GOD DAMN BEARS. And other annoyances, and bad decisions.

And with that, I'm going to take a break then continue in a new post. See you in a few hours.

He looks so bishy.

And I'm gonna play backseat driver and say that I would've settled on the pig farm, instead.

A probably relevant info:

Patch "n" for FFH is up. It's pretty important, as it fixes the bug with Balseraphs building only freaks and nothing else. Also it repairs some CTDs and finally makes converting Acheron's killer units impossible.

And I'm back. I think I should probably change the writing style or add a bit more detail, so you have more then just the occasional picture and sentence explaining it. Editing in updates as before:

An expedition to discover new lands has landed, and not too far from home:

The land is savage, though also fertile. Colonization efforts would only have to tame it to prosper...

We've also found a new hopeful among the failed experiments of the various asylums. 9 feet tall, very muscular, and doesn't die when you put runes on him. He's completely insane, but that's nothing a little demonic pact can't fix.

The Simon of Gitta, best and brightest among the military commanders found him himself, and has tasked him with helping with the bear problem down south. Let's see how he fairs...

Our military *ahem* researchers have perfected the art of making a bow, though the process is apparently rather specialized and will require additional infrastructure before they can be made large-scale.

Oh, and Savorous managed to kill that cluster of bear dens that the people of Kingsport kept complaining about. He may be worth his rations, afterall.

Our cartographers have proven that the world is round! Somehow. Personally, I don't know what they're talking about, but they say they that navigators should be able to navigate better now. I'll have to make a note to send him to the asylum next time they come asking for new patients.

We've finally re-discovered the wheel. Those land lubbers are smarter then they look...

Savorous has become rather unstable now that he's tasted blood, so I told Simon to go deal with him. Savorous seemed to like him, I think because even with his drug-and-magic addled mind, he managed to piece together that it was him who was responsible for stopping the daily tortures of the asylum. Fortunately, Simon didn't have the same enthusiasm, which gave me something to chuckle at.

It's also got me thinking... he'd make a great a great body guard for Simon and a fine hero for an army to rally under, so long as his insanity was kept in check. Simon and Savorous... has a bit of a ring to it.

A pirate expedition has found the civilization of lizards Garrim told us about. Their leader has a weird right eye...

HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE THINGS

Some kind of giant featherless chicken?! With teeth, and claws, and scales... What kind of hell spawned this creature? I guess I've seen worse crawl out the asylums, but still...

Another of the civilizations Garrim told us of. He called them all momma's boys... he neglected to mention they had big, sharp, pointy spears and were always caked with blood. When I asked them about that, they said, "Mother was hungry. See that you are not added to the menu." I left with empty bowels after that.

The caravel sent out to sail across the world was destroyed by a sea serpent they freed from a ship wreak. Asshole...

A small cult formed of those who were particularly zealous to their octopus overlords has been found performing secret rituals in the basement of the temple there. Apparently, they were forced to hide because the will of the overlords isn't always... how best to put this... sane. They were quite skilled in healing and were able to call massive tsunamis at will, so I decided to make an agreement; they provide their special talents to the military, I turn a blind eye to their activities.

(Ah fuck, the universe imploded. I hope the autosave isn't too far behind...)

A city has been founded, on a small island to the south east. It's there mainly because it's easily defendable, though we Lanun know how to make a living off the sea alone.

A representative from one of the more prominent (and sadistic) asylums approached me today, asking that I legalize their activities and, in return, promising more "accidents" like Savorous. I told him I'd think about it, and sent him away. The very next day, one of our spies came back with a report on Khazad defenses... they were less then ideal (for us, anyway). I was trying to think of some way to increase our military capacity, when I remembered that offer. I sent a messenger to tell them my agreement to their offer, who came back with a request for some land for a new building. I told them they'd have to pay for it just like everyone else, and they did (I do wonder where they get their money sometimes... most of the time I wish I didn't, and I know the truth would be worse, which is why I don't ask). Now they have a big, shiny new building just outside of town, and I have a crowd of angry protesters right outside my window. I just hope they maintain their side of the deal...

A massive blight has struck the land, crops, livestock, and men alike withering and dying, and disease and sickness has flared up to pandemic states. The first thing I did was charge into that new asylum and ask, in very colorful language, what they had done. A good half-hour into that, one of my advisers came to me and told me that the blight was affecting not just us, but everyone else too. I knew enough about magic that something so large couldn't be of their doing, so I left. Hopefully this will pass...

Well, at least something good has arisen from this blight... someone from the asylum told me to come over quickly. He sounded exited. I thought they'd discovered some new anti-coagulant or something useless like that, like they always have when they drag me over. Though this time was... different. I enter the asylum and they take me down the experiment halls. I'll never get used to the screams there... oh god the screams...
Anyway, they finally take me into into one of the rooms and my senses are instantly assaulted by this massive... thing, which looked and smelled like someone ten feet tall had been wrapped in parasitic demonic flesh and left to rot at the bottom of the ocean for a year. It seemed... somewhat complacent, though it twitched as if it only barely refrained from killing everyone in the room, and was bound to the room with several rather thick chains. They pointed excitedly at it, explaining how it had almost destroyed the entire asylum, but they'd found a way to tame it with runes and demonic pacts. They also said that they created it from someone infected by one of this blight's diseases, and that they could do it again without too much difficulty. Well, not like they'd have a much better fate if they were left to die from their disease, though I decided to, instead of forcing them, make it a volunteer program, where the relatives of anyone who did this willingly would be paid a substantial sum of gold. That should at least prevent them from rioting...

A messager from Simon came to me today, with some very worrying news... He says that Savorous is not only unstable and strong, but also more cunning then any of us could have thought, somehow managing to thwart all attempts of Simon to reach me, except this one, apparently. He says that Savorous has for a long time become out of control, bursting into fits of cunning rage and forcing Simon and many innocent bystanders to do rather... degrading things, and some times simply killing them outright. He also says that Savorous has, on many occasions, demanded that an army be raised, and that we attack the dwarves to the west. I think I may just fulfill this request... though Kandros is simply too strong for us to handle, there are other, weaker targets...

I assembled a small, rag-tag army of the more powerful results of the asylums, along with a few members of that cult, put them on some boats, and sent them away with Simon, who should somewhat improve their chances of surviving. Saverous was pleased, and Simon asked what the hell was I thinking. Should be a formidable assault, even moreso if I keep them reinforced. After several days of sailing, they reach their landing point and...

That is one BIG gorilla...

They actually managed to take a city... though now I have a few of those unliving machinations of theirs charging through our homeland. I wonder how many arrows it'll take to kill one of them...

(OOC: I just got all the techs required to research the Ashen Veil, which hasn't been founded yet. They're basically demon worshipers, and are the bringers and revelers of hell. If I switched to it, I'd loose Saverous, but gain the new evil and more powerful heros of the veil. It would also grant the option of summoning Hyborem and killing myself, along with everything else. Nobody's founded it yet, so I doubt they will anytime soon. Just stating an option for you guys to vote for. BTW, I'm open to any suggestions, and I'll try to fulfill them if I can.)

The war with the dwarves is slow, but we're definitely winning. We don't have enough soldiers to toss them about willy-nilly, and they're heavily entrenched. Plus, we don't have siege weapons.

Demon worshipers. Even those among the asylums frown upon them, though still use their power. Oh, the power, power to shift continents, to level civilizations, to boil away the very sea itself... and a once-small cult of them has grown to become the prominent religion on Peradera. They call it "the Ashen Veil", and they are rather nasty with their rituals... I wouldn't mind if they kept it on their little island, but I know religion. Religion spreads, especially demonic ones. It will grow, and I'm sure it won't be long before I have some of those damned cultists dancing to their fel rituals on my doorstep.

I have heard of a great prophet who has recently arrived (and died) in Peradera, apparently he was the "chosen" of Agares to perform one of the more powerful rituals which they had learned about but never had the right person to do it. From some accounts, they nailed him upon a large, spiked, and encircled cross, laid 5 of the more magically gifted worshipers around him on a pentagram, said a bunch of stuff in demon tongue, then cut him in half at exactly midnight. The exact purpose of this ritual is unknown to anyone outside their religion, though it didn't simply summon a demon or grant some greater knowledge. No, it did something... more. At about that time a few nights ago, I was awoken by some strange and sudden jerk coming from the abdomen, then a feeling of deep violation, like something had just raped my very soul. I had also heard a few screams from elsewhere in the palace, and there was quite a buzz about it through the streets the next day. I should probably do something about those cultists... and soon...

And another problem, Garrim has agreed to become a vassal of the lizardmen in exchange for their protection... from us. It seemed like we were such good friends too... I was hoping we'd be allies. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to attack him, too. Oh, and he apparently also summoned a bunch of angels not too long ago. I didn't mention it because it didn't directly effect me, but now it does.

(took a small break to look at stuff on the forums, and got another crash. Debating whether to continue this or do something else. Like sleep. Yeah, I'll just go to sleep. Maybe take a shower, too. See you tomorrow, I'll make another post like this one when I start again)

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

I would much prefer the unknowable motives of Great Cthulhu to the explained horrors of the Infernals. Unless you have the option of summoning the Infernals without blowing up your civ, that is. If so, then by all means summon them. Such chaos can only herald the stars becoming right again. Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn! I'a Dagon! I'a Hydra! Cthulhu fhtagn!

Guys, do not go Fall Further just now, there're some bugs and it's not being developed for a year :). I would recommend Orbis, it really improves gameplay in many ways.

Oops you've started. Good luck then, I hope you do not get WoC error after turn 200 or so :). So far it's fixed only in patch N and RiFE (and maybe Orbis, I didn't check).

I can summon the Infernals without becoming them, though if I do I'll have to kill them eventually. Plus, they'd turn the entire world into a hellscape and the Armageddon Count increase they'd herald would likely activate all the Armageddon events, giving them a considerable advantage.
I'd also have to switch to the Ashen Veil to summon them, which would make me loose Saverous, the cultists, and the Stygian guards. I'd get more powerful stuff in exchange, though.

Also, brother's on the other computer. Can't play right now, might not have time today when he finally gets off, if he gets off.

Hmm. I suppose Great Cthulhu won't really care what we do, but Father Dagon might not be so forgiving apathetic to our breaking the Oath. I suggest we just let someone else found The Ashen Veil, and hopefuly summon the Infernals. With any luck the Mercutians will enter the game as well. After all, Cthulhu will likely need great sustaince after the eons of death.

I already founded the Ashen Veil, which happened to be founded on a nice little secluded island (read near the end of the last play post for more info). Mercurians have also already been summoned, and have declared war on me because their summoner made a nation I'm at war with their vassal.

Yeah, stick with the squid.

I will. Ashen Veil's more fun to play as, but the Octopus Overlords have better RP value.
