long names in menus

it's really hard to guess if it's crystal glass blocks or crystal glass statue in workshop menu( also there are other places where string is too long). My suggestion is to make the text scroll if you keep it selected more then T seconds.

On a menu where the name is extra long (like giant menacing green glass cork screw), you can always press [tab] a couple times and expand the window to see the full name.

That aside, I like your idea too.  There's no reason to not have BOTH in place.

Yeah, i like this idea. It's damn annoying to have like "Construct green glass th" in the menu. Sure, scrolling text would also be somewhat annoying, but much better.

agreed, when i first started playing, i kept making weapon racks thinking i was making weapons (yes i am that dumb).  also, my tab fucntion is a little slow, seems to kinda hang up sometimes.  no reason to ditch it tho, i vote for both.

I'd prefer it it just had "Make <material>..." at the top, then listed the items under it, for all (most?) of the menus:
