For pure killing power, you can't beat the M16.  But sometimes, pure killing power is not where it's at. 

I don't like the endless war that comes from arming 6 people with M16 and killing anything that moves.  It's not that it's not a good time, it's that you run out of ammo quickly so unless you are killing soldiers, you are going to run out.  Once you've killed that many soldiers, you have a choice between sending your elite liberals to jail, or fighting FOREVER.  Not an enticing prospect.

On the other hand, the AR-16 isn't quite so deadly.  It's still a good weapon, but it doesn't tear opponents to shreds quite as well.  Conversely, at 30 shots a clip, it takes a while to run out, there's less reloading during combat incidents. and possibly my favourite aspect of them is if I equip my horde of support liberals with them, and a decent supply of clips, they can provide cover fire forever.  Theres also the matter of availablity.

So pros and cons weighed, which do you prefer?

isn't the M4 the best, due to it's superior accuracy?
According to the wiki page, the .45 semi looks to be only slightly less powerful than the AR-15, so I really like it's concealability.
Anyhow, I prefer using the M16.

I think Jon mentioned rifles having an armour-piercing advantage over pistols (The Deagle and .44 excluded, maybe). The wiki's somewhat incomplete about those things.
