40d# speeding caravan
« on: February 19, 2010, 04:24:44 pm »

I probably can't reproduce it, but when I was playing just now, a caravan arrived and took steps of about 5-10 sq at the time and moved through my above-ground-fortress at an alarming speed while the rest of the fortress kept on moving at normal pace.

They recieved a speeding ticket, 20 days in the prison and the horses recieved two hammerstrikes each. It is believed that this will not occur again but I thought I'd post a message about it to warn others of these reckless caravans!

Happy hippo hunting!

Actually, it IS reproducing! Though it does not happen to every caravan that comes.. first of all, only dwarf caravans(wagons only).. and only ONE of the wagons.. though.. I feel a bit reluctant to post the save file since only three dwarves remains in my fortress(I'm playing a challange that proved a bit more challanging than I anticipated..).. I am still struggling on though! Over 100 dwarves dead and very VERY V-E-R-Y few migrants coming to help out.. but I digress.. :-) I'll post the save if it can help out in any way!

Once again:
Happy hippo hunting!

See this thread: http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=49170.0

Also, use Search next time. Better yet, at least check to see if it's on the first page (hint: as of right now, it is).

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Good, that means I don't have to post the save.. ;-)

Sorry for the inconvenience.. I checked the bug-list and didn't find anything about it.. so I just wanted to help.
I'll try the forum-search next time something odd happens!
