Waterpump building

Since the water from the river no longer goes upstream, how about an alternate method for near-surface farming?

A waterpump... or watertower... building that's built next to the outside river. It requires one dwarf and one beast of burden (mule/horse/cow) to operate. Once you've got the water up in the tower, you need to build an aqueduct from the building to inside the mountain. From there it'll flow regularily (no longer needs to go uphill).

Pros:
- No need to build floodgates and levers (since the building itself is a sort of on/off switch)
- No need to dig up to the river the get farming going

Cons:
- Have to build aqueduct
- Ties up one dwarf for a longer time than the floodgate-switch-mechanism when in use
- Essentially only useful outside so maybe not so desirable later in the game once your population is deep inside the mountain

Good idea. I still would have preferred the water to go upstream but have kobolds poison it or monster attacks make it more dangerous.
