How to make cats drop x?

I added the ITEMCORPSE tag and all, brackets, blah blah blah, but when I slaughtered a cat, no items appeared! what did i do wrong?

They will drop "x" :D.

Seriously though, which itemcorpse did you use? If it doesn't drop anything it means that you made the product line wrong.

I butchered it. I took the tag from the bronze colossus, made it so that it would drop an iron anvil (I want to make a muskox ranch... thing) and gave it to a cat. On embark, I slaughtered one cat, but nothing happened.

If I remember correctly butchering the animal stops it from dropping the itemcorpse.

Could you post the itemcorpse token you used here, anyway?
