Adding enemy civilizations after game has started...
« on: February 08, 2010, 05:53:18 pm »

Hello, first time poster.

Now back to the original question, is this even possible? I'm in a good location, the only thing I worry about is Elephants and Hippos, which my Hammer Dwarves pummel into dust. I want to fight humanoids! Is there any way to add them after a game has officially started? Goblins don't show up on my civ screen =(

P.S.
I hope I'm posting in the right section. Sorry if I'm not.

No. You have to regen the world to add civs.

I am pretty sure there is a way to find the gen seeds of a world. You could make your mod then make your new world with the old seeds.

Civs don't show up on your civ screen unless you meet them, and if you didn't check the embark screen you won't know before that. How much is your fortress worth and how long has it been running?

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Also, I might be off, but I think you can regen your world with new civilizations added and if you use the same seed, you'll get the same geography... You might get a few layers swapped around and such, but the major features can remain the same..  I've done this on dwarf heaven and had situations where instead of having lots of iron with no flux, I get no iron with a lot of flux and things like that, but every thing else.. pits, magma, rivers, HFS remain the same.
